About halfway through we invited a friend, Marcus Hooper - a guitarist, programmer and engineer, up to Leeton to have a listen. Much to our relief, he was highly impressed, and threw together a demo mix of a couple of the tracks so we could get an idea of where it was all heading. As it turned out we ended up bringing Marcus into the Redbak fold to handle the mixing side of things and the result has been amazing (if we do say so ourselves).
Sharon's CD, "Perfect Little World" released in April this year has been acclaimed as her best work yet and has received much praise for the quality of the production. you can find out more about it on Sharon's website.

...and then... along came Reg

After hearing a pre-release of Perfect Little World, 2006 Roll of Renown inductee, OAM recipient and 3 times Golden Guitar winner, Reg Poole, thought we might be able to work a bit magic for his latest CD, For the Love of My Country, also released in April this year. I'd be lying if I said we weren't nervous at the prospect of recording an album for a legend like Reg Poole, but as Sharon worked on the arrangements and we started recording tracks, it became clear that it was all going to come together nicely. By the time Marcus had finished the mixes and we were ready to send it off to our favourite mastering engineer, Martin Pullan of Edensound in Melbourne, the consensus was that Redbak had come through again. Reg was happy; his missus was happy; we were happy, and since its release, the reviews have been just wonderful. Redbak was well and truly up and running.

Our philosophy

The best part of this for Reg, apart from getting the best sounding CD of his career, was that he could afford to cover the very modest costs himself. This means he completely owns For the Love of My Country and all sales go straight back into his pocket, where they belong. Sharon and I believe that, in a tight market, a working musician or band needs to keep their production costs down in order to maximise their income.

How do we do this?

I thought you'd never ask...
